According the recent article in the Express, motorists are putting themselves at risk of a collision as well as being fined and receiving penalty points by using their mobile phones while behind the wheel to take selfies.
A popular hashtag on Instagram #drivingselfie has been used 30,240 times at the time of writing this story showing people posting pictures of them while they are driving or behind the wheel.
Under the new mobile phone driving laws, introduced on March 1st, first time drivers, or people who have been driving for less than two years, can face an immediate disqualification.
This is because if you rack up six points in the first two years compared to the usual 12 penalty points then you will lose your licence.
