Did you know that you might need to pass the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) taxi assessment to drive a taxi or private hire vehicle (PHV)? Contact your local council to find out if you need to?
There are 3 types of assessment you can take:
- the standard driving assessment
- the enhanced assessment – this includes a wheelchair exercise
- the upgrade assessment if you’ve done the standard assessment and now want to do the wheelchair exercise
- Contact your local council to find out if you need to take the test.
- Book your test with DVSA if you have to take it.
Book your test – First Things First
However, before thinking about booking your test, there are a number of skills which you may need to learn and at Surrey Driving Force, we are here to help.
We start by assessing your current driving skills and if necessary, ironing out any bad habits you may have picked up over the years. When you take your test, the examiners are looking for a high standard of driving, with good observational skills with respect for other road users. With this in mind, our training ensures you are fully prepared for your test.
We have a high pass rate and with a series of lessons at a pace to suit you and your budget, we can fully prepare you for a career in the taxi / private hire industry.
