Almost six in 10 UK drivers know nothing about a new raft of driving laws introduced in France this year.
A survey undertaken by RAC Europe shows that over half of continent-bound drivers (59%) are unaware of the changes, with many also concerned about the impact of Brexit on their future travel options.
The majority of motorists expect the cost and hassle of driving abroad to increase after the UK leaves the European Union.
The RAC is urging drivers to make themselves aware of the changes to France’s driving laws, and has called for the UK government to provide more assurances about what to expect from Brexit.

The survey of 1,400 drivers shows that almost four-fifths (78%) of motorists are unaware that speed limits on France’s secondary roads was reduced on 1 July from 90kph to 80kph (55mph to 50mph).
