First Things First!
It may sound obvious but before you start, it is essential that you ask yourself the following question:
“Why do I want to be a Driving Instructor?”
There are no right or wrong answers to this question but it is important that you can answer it if you are going to be able to complete the training to the best of your ability.

The training and tests are not hard and most people actually enjoy it, but you will need to work hard.

In order to become a driving instructor you will need to fulfil the following DSA criteria:-
- Hold a full UK or EU driving licence for 4 out of the last 6 years
- Have not been disqualified from driving
- Not have any more than six penalty points on your driving licence
- To be a fit and proper person in the opinion of the DSA
What does ADI Training Involve?
In order to become a fully qualified DSA Approved Driving Instructor there are 3 separate exams which must be passed with a 2 year time frame. It is crucial that you must pass exams in the predetermined order as they cannot be taken out of sequence.
